About the teacher
Teaching tango through connection, movement and music
Demetrio Scafaria is an experienced Argentine tango dancer, teacher, organiser and DJ from Italy, now based in Turin.
From 2017 to 2025, Demetrio was an important presence in London tango. Those years gave him extensive experience of teaching, performing, organising and working with a broad international community of social dancers.
His teaching is practical, attentive and rooted in the needs of the social floor. He explores connection, navigation, musicality and the technical organisation that allows dancers to feel comfortable and make clear choices within the embrace.
Demetrio returns to Tango Amistoso as a visiting teacher, bringing the perspective of his years in London together with his continuing work in the European tango community.
