 TangotoCUP: A Unique Tango Competition in London!

As you already know, we are not far away from TangotoCUP London 2024, a prestigious competition that is part of the T2i World Cup in Istanbul. The T2i World Cup is a global event with preliminaries in cities like Buenos Aires, and this year, the London leg promises to be an event to remember. This year TangotoCUP London is happening in November (15th, 16th and 17th) and the T2i World Cup will be held in Istanbul along with the world famous Tango2Istanbul Festival in March 2025. Note: Participants in the Social Salon category must not be professionals (i.e., they do not teach or perform anywhere in the world, and do not have videos promoting themselves on YouTube or any social media. Videos of dancing uploaded by the general public are ok. The judges decision will be final on this matter). Participants in the Social Salon category cannot participate in the Salon category and vice versa.

Note: For the Escenario category, one of the prerequisites for entering the T2i WorldCup is for participants to finish in the Top 5 of one of the preliminaries. Our TangoToCUP London is one of those preliminaries.

Natasha Lewinger & Haris Mihail in London This October 

Natasha and Haris are back in London and teaching here at Amistoso from 15th October until the 20th November!

Natasha and Haris started dancing more than 15 years ago, and their paths finally met in the beginning of 2016. They are internationally recognized teachers and dancers known for their connection, elegance, musicality, dynamics and quality. They both love social dancing, especially the milonguero style.

In their own words: “The most important thing in tango for us is the connection. We are crazy about technique but only as a medium to improve the connection and feelings that will allow us to adapt to every body and every style. We believe in dancing as one body with four legs, the centaur. Communication between us is the key for our tango. Listening to the leader is as important as listening to the follower.”

We are proud to have them in London and teaching the Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday classes at Tango Amistoso between 15th October and 20th November.

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for… The maestros of maestros, Chicho Frúmboli & Juana Sepúlveda, are landing this week. They’ll be delivering an incredible programme of seminars over the weekend, these are almost sold out, but register your interest here just in case a spot becomes available!

We had a blast at Negracha last week as we started dancing earlier! Thank you for all the positive feedback and support! We can’t wait to see you again this week with Koray Oksar & Isabella Georgopoulou teaching the Beginners lesson between 18:30 and 19:30 and the Open Level lesson between 19:30 and 20:30.

We will start the milonga again at 20:30 with guest TDJ Katerina Stoyanova and she will be keeping us dancing till 3AM

World Champions Marcos Roberts & Louise Malucelli are in London!
Marcos and Louise are coming back to Tango Amistoso this week! We will welcome them this Saturday at Milonga Amistosa. They will be teaching the Tango Unlimited slot at 16:30 and the Advanced class at 18:00. The Tango Unlimited class will be an ESCENARIO SPECIAL. They will also be teaching the Sunday classes at Milonga Simpatica.

Throughout their stay here, you can find them teaching the Open Level Technique class and Advanced class on Tuesdays from 19:30 and some Saturday and Sunday classes when they are available. They are also available for private lessons, please get in touch at info@tango-amistoso.co.uk if you are interested. You will be paying the visiting teachers directly and the whole of your payment goes to them.
