We’ll have our final Advanced Class with Winston and Teresa. From September onwards, we’re excited to welcome Oa Metzner, a fabulous tango dancer and teacher in both roles, who will launch Tango Lab Seminars with our own dear Winston.

Wednesday

We have Beginners at 7pm followed by our Milonga & Vals work at Improvers and Intermediate levels — a chance to spend some proper time understanding the different rhythm, character and movement of these two beautiful parts of Tango music.

Thursday

In Angel, Beginners is followed by Voleos & Ganchos at Improvers and Intermediate levels. If you want to understand these movements as something that grows naturally from communication and dynamics rather than as decorative tricks, this is a lovely course to explore.

Tango Amistoso is delighted and honoured to welcome Bruna Estellita, Tango World Champion, to London for a special three-week residency from 1st June until 21st June.

Bruna is internationally recognised as one of the most accomplished and inspiring dancers of her generation. Her artistry, technique, musicality and deep understanding of Argentine Tango have earned her worldwide acclaim, culminating in her achievement as Tango World Champion. It is a rare privilege to have an artist of Bruna’s calibre teaching in London, and we are thrilled to be able to share her knowledge and experience with our tango community during this exclusive residency.

Throughout her stay, Bruna Estellita will be teaching alongside Winston Veerender, founder of Tango Amistoso, in a programme of advanced classes, open-level classes, Followers’ Technique Workshops, practicas and milongas.

Together they will offer dancers a unique opportunity to deepen their technique, musical interpretation, connection and confidence on the dance floor while learning directly from one of the most respected tango artists in the world.

In addition to the weekly partnerwork classes, Bruna will also be offering dedicated Followers’ Technique Workshops, designed to help followers develop stronger balance, pivots, posture, musicality, adornments and body awareness. There’s a beautiful moment in every tango dancer’s journey. It’s the moment you step onto the milonga floor not with anxiety, but with confidence. The steps are in your body, you can navigate the floor, and you can create a wonderful dance with a partner. You’ve arrived.

This is a huge achievement, and it’s often at this very point that a new question arises: “Do I still need to take classes?” The cost and time of a class can seem less appealing than the pure joy of a milonga.

We believe that this moment of confidence isn’t the destination; it’s the true beginning of your artistic journey. This article is about embracing the idea of tango as a never-ending path of discovery and how we at Amistoso have designed a system to keep that journey exciting, affordable, and deeply rewarding for even the most experienced dancers.

Part 1: The Never-Ending Journey of Tango

Why continue with formal learning when you can already dance well socially? Because tango is not a finite skill to be mastered, but a language to be explored. Once you know the basic words and grammar, the real joy comes from learning to write poetry.

New Courses: Voleos and Ganchos

We are starting new courses this Wednesday, May 1st, running for 7 weeks – Beginners, Improvers and Intermediate.

The Beginners course is perfect for those who want to try Tango for the first time or for those who want to revisit the basics and brush up their technique.

The Improvers and Intermediate Course

In these classes, we’ll dive into the exciting world of voleos and ganchos, helping you master these dynamic and fun moves. We’ll cover everything from the concept of the free leg to various techniques and options for both voleos and ganchos. This course is designed to add flair and exciting dynamics to your dance!

Course Objectives:

* Voleos options

* Ganchos technique

* Ganchos options

Both our Improvers and Intermediate Courses will focus on this same theme, but in different ways. In the Intermediate Courses, we mix concepts together and dive deeper. Read below to decide which level is best for you, and please refer to our level guide here too.

The Improvers Course

Great for dancers looking to solidify the foundations and feel confident on the dance floor. This course will help you master the basics and prepare you for more advanced tango exploration.

The Intermediate Course

Ideal for those ready to explore more complex tango concepts. In this course, you’ll blend foundational skills with intricate layers of tango. It is necessary that you have already completed the Improvers course to join this level.

London Tango Encuentro Special at Negracha, Dancing All Weekend Long

This week only! Negracha will play host to the opening night of the fabulous London Tango Encuentro. We’ll be at Conway Hall for this very special occasion, but beforehand there will be an exclusive workshop from maestros Simone Facchini & Gioia Abballe at Herbal Hill. They will then be delivering a magical performance later in the night at the milonga at Conway Hall! We will also have the very special event of a Maestros Ronda, with Simone & Gioia, Esref Tekinalp & Vanessa Gauch, Natasha Lewinger & Haris Mihail, and Dante Culcuy & Chris Benson all sharing their incredible talent on the pista. TDJ Dan Bujdei will be playing for the first part of the night, with Vinicius Flores taking over for our Afterparty at Herbal Hill.

Tango del Corazón is Back!

We are thrilled to announce the next edition of Tango Del Corazón! This time, we’ll be performing at the Amistoso Anniversary Party on 30th May 2025, a truly special occasion!

For those of you that don’t know, Tango Del Corazón is our student choreography group, it offers our students an exclusive opportunity to be a part of something very special. Over several months, the group will work towards a spectacular performance, but it’s not just about the end goal; the training and experience you gain as part of the group will stick with you for long after. You can check out our last performance here!

Rehearsal Details:

* Rehearsals: Sundays, 1pm to 3pm at Claremont Project, starting from 18th January 2025 until the performance in May 2025.

* There will be extra rehearsals closer to the performance date TBC.

The return of Natasha & Haris

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for! We’re so delighted to have the incredible Natasha Lewinger & Haris Mihail back teaching with us for a very special five weeks. Natasha & Haris’s passion for dancing and teaching has to be seen to be believed – come along and experience their incredible attention to detail, and love for tango!

Starting on the 15th October, Natasha & Haris will be teaching the Tuesday Technique Class & Advanced Special, the Wednesday Intermediate class, the Saturday Advanced and the Sunday Intermediate classes. You won’t want to miss their technique tips and signature moves. Come along and make the most of these beautiful people, and wonderful dancers.
